Setup Instructions – TP Link WR841N (PPPoE)
To begin configuring your TP-Link router you can either connect via Wifi or using an ethernet cable connected to the LAN port.
Open a browser and enter the address 192.168.0.1 into the address bar. The default username is admin with password admin.
This is the default IP address which may have been changed. If you are unable to connect to the router you may need to reset it to defaults.
To establish an internet connection, the WAN connection needs to be configured. Select Network->Wan on the menu and change the connection type to PPPoE. Enter your username and password as provided by Ezi-Web and click the ‘Save’ button. Your username will be in the format XXXXX@ezi-web.com.au
Note: The username and password are case sensitive.
If you have connected an ethernet cable from the WAN socket to your modem or apartment wall socket your router will establish an internet connection shortly.
To set your Wifi name (Wifi SSID) goto the Wireless->Wireless Settings menu. Change the Wireless Network Name to a friendly name which you can remember. This is the name of the Wifi access point that will appear on your Wifi devices. Click the ‘Save’ button the apply the settings.
To secure your Wifi from unknown users, make sure Wifi security is enabled. Select Wireless-> Wireless Security on the menu and enable WPA2-PSK encrpytion as shown in the image below. Enter a wireless password which others wont be able to guess. Click the ‘Save’ button the apply the settings.
You router is now configured and internet access will be available. You can check the status of the internet conenction on the Status menu option.
